ECO-TOURISM

THE STONE TENT

ADVENTURE STAY-OVER

Hiking:
Apart from an abundance of hiking trails across the farm, the most impressive is a two-hour hike down a majestic mountain valley with deep, and mostly dry waterfalls to the banks of the Orange River. Along the way you can sleep over in our natural stone tent or continue along and camp on the banks of the Orange River. Climbing and walking up the highest mountains will give you the most spectacular views, especially from your camping site with the shadows of early morning and late afternoon. On your way you can enjoy very rare and interesting plants that you will find nowhere else in the world. Interesting and colourful rock formations formed in iron and sandstone also awaits you. Birds like the magnificent Black Eagle, Batteleur, Rosy cheek Lovebird, Fish Eagle, etc. will comfort bird-lovers. A variety of small mammals, lizards, ground beetles and flying creatures will complete your interesting semi-desert experience.

Fishing:
Bring along your fishing rods and catch your own healthy meal of garb, yellow tail, bass, etc. while camping on the banks of the Orange River.

4x4 Trails:
Enthusiasts of this magnificent way of enjoying and seeing nature will truly be able to put their fire horses through their paces (not for the faint hearted). Along the way you may, apart from spectacular views, also see an abundance of wild animals, birds and plants. Because these trails are guided, early booking is important.

4 Wheel Motorbikes:
This way of transport will take you where only the best and short 4x4 vehicles can hardly go, especially biking down to the great Orange River Valley.
